Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of DocuDevs.ai and its document processing API (the "Service"), operated by Gabria Oy, a company registered in Finland ("DocuDevs", "we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

DocuDevs provides an AI-powered document processing API that extracts structured data from documents. The Service includes the API, web application, SDK, CLI tools, and documentation.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your API keys and login credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
  • One person or entity may not maintain more than one account without our permission.

3. Payments and Tokens

DocuDevs uses a prepaid token system:

  • You purchase token packs as one-time payments. There are no subscriptions or recurring charges.
  • Tokens are debited from your balance as you use the API, based on operation type and AI model tier.
  • Purchased tokens do not expire.
  • Token purchases are non-refundable, except as required by applicable law.
  • If your token balance reaches zero, the API will return a 402 status code until you purchase more tokens.
  • We may adjust token pricing for future purchases. Existing token balances are not affected by price changes.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or to process documents you do not have the right to process
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, billing, or security controls
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Share your API key with unauthorized third parties
  • Use the Service to build a competing document processing product that directly repackages our API
  • Upload documents containing malware or malicious content

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms.

5. Your Documents and Data

  • You retain ownership of all documents you upload and data you extract.
  • We do not use your documents to train AI models.
  • Documents are processed using third-party AI services (Azure OpenAI, Azure Document Intelligence) solely to fulfill your requests.
  • Documents uploaded for processing are stored temporarily and deleted after processing unless you explicitly save them to a case or knowledge base.
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to process any documents you upload.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its API, documentation, SDK, and web application, is owned by Gabria Oy and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding.

You may use our SDK and API according to their respective licenses for the purpose of integrating with the Service.

7. API and Availability

  • We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
  • We may modify the API with reasonable notice. Breaking changes will be communicated in advance where feasible.
  • We may introduce rate limits to ensure fair usage across all customers.
  • Scheduled maintenance will be announced when possible.

8. Bring Your Own Provider

DocuDevs allows you to configure your own LLM and OCR providers. When you use your own provider:

  • Documents are sent to your provider under your own agreement with them.
  • We are not responsible for how your provider processes your data.
  • Usage with your own provider is exempt from token billing.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not warrant that extraction results will be error-free or 100% accurate. AI models can make mistakes — you are responsible for validating results for your use case.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

10. Termination

  • You may close your account at any time by contacting us.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or remain inactive for an extended period.
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days, except as required by law.
  • Any remaining token balance is forfeited upon account termination for cause. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund the unused token balance.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Helsinki, Finland, unless mandatory consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
